First Bhutanese Football Referee was Mr. Jitu Basnet (KAKA) from USA. Mr. Basnet was officially football Referee since 2010 in USA and District of Jhapa Nepal from 2006-2010. Now a days kaka is School coach and Referee.

Let us celebrate our upcoming festivals in a different way, given the fact that the pandemic has already taken thousands of lives.
I recently started the campaign #differentDashain. The goal of this initiative is to help prevent a surge of COVID-19 cases within the Nepali-speaking Bhutanese community during the festival of Dashain and Tihar – which fall in the last week of October and second week of November respectively.
We celebrate both these festivals by gathering in both small and large groups, where a close physical proximity is unavoidable. The way we celebrate these great festivals is more than likely to increase transmission of COVID-19 from one person to another.

Traditions and people’s outlooks change. The idea of Dashain is not entirely rooted in physical gatherings and parties. According to Hindu mythology, the true purpose of Dashain is to simply celebrate the victory of good over evil. These other traditions of physical gatherings were added in order to help us feel connected and united as extended families.

ONLINE TALENT SHOW COMPETITION-2020
The Himalayan Music Academy in Akron, Ohio USA is going to organize an
"ONLINE TALENT SHOW COMPETITION-2020" . The competition will be held in 4 categories. Pushpa Gajmer chairman of the organizing body said that 'The four genres include singing, dancing, comedy and various musical instruments'. The date for filling up the form for participation is from 15th August to 18th September.
The organizers have informed that they can participate in the program as they are between 5 and 65 years of age. This time it was for Nepali-speaking Bhutanese living in United States and Canada will also be able to participate.
Participants in this online contest will have to pay a US $ 25 form fee. The final of this competition will be held on November 7 between Dashain and Tihar. Along with this, the official poster of the program has also been made public. Vikash Thulung, Saranga Shrestha and Arjun Rasaili are the judges of the online competition while Gopi Dahal, Dambar Khapoong and Santosh Ramdam are the judges of the jury. sujita gurung,ramesh diyali, asmita rasaily and sidh niroula are hosts.
The Chairman Gajmer said that, 'The winner of the competition will receive $ 2,500 with a special trophy, $1,500 with a first-runner-up trophy and $ 1,000 with a second-runner-up trophy.'
